We did serious Thanksgiving food shopping today, much of it at the Ballard Farmers’ Market in Seattle. We’ll be posting make-ahead recipes all week, and featuring farms from around Washington State. This cute feller is from Skagit River Ranch in Sedro Wooley.
Some upcoming food we’ll be making:
- turkey broth (great for basting and making gravy)
- turkey (from Skagit River Ranch in Sedro Wooley, WA)
- cranberry sauce with orange zest (from Bloom Creek Cranberry Farm in Olympia, WA)
- bread crumbs (bread from Esssential Baking Company)
- wild mushroom bread pudding with butternut squash and leeks (leeks from Nash’s Farm in Sequim; butternut squash from Alm Hill in Everson, WA)
- stuffing with italian sausage, apples and parsnips (sausage from Skagit River Ranch; apples from Acma Mission Orchards parsnips from Nash’s Farm)
- mashed potatoes (Olsen Farms in Aladdin, WA)
- no-bake pumpkin icebox layer cake
