A lazy Sunday morning calls for good coffee, fresh orange juice and walnut bread french toast. We’re awfully fond of Essential Baking Company, and their organic walnut bread makes excellent french toast.
Preheat your pan or grill to medium heat. Slice up some walnut bread into semi-thick slices. Mix together three eggs, some milk, a splash or two of vanilla extract, and some freshly grated orange or lemon peel. Stir together, soak the bread, and fry up on the grill with some butter for browning.
Serve with sliced fruit, a sausage (or soysausage) and some fresh juice. Turn up the jazz, pull out the New York Times, and enjoy. Easy, satisfying, delicious Sunday breakfast is served.
